Video of 1977 V8 Celica Liftback

I had a brand new one in high school and I'm in the process of looking for one again. This guy's Celica is clean with the pull back fenders and the blower. I probably wouldn't do this, but I really do like it!

I've seen the video a few times. Very clean, his car. Looking forward to see what you do with your Celica man. Post some pictures!

That guy in the video says he designed his own kit for the car. I'm soon gonna do the same. I've already got the body design to 80%. Can't wait.
Good luck!

Impressive work.
Personally I prefer original panels much better but it certainly looks like quality work.

Here's a video of Mick's V8 1977 Celica liftback...
And its build blog...

I would probably keep mine stock with the smiley bumpers and banana taillights, but if I had an extra Celica liftback, I'd do it like the old Rodenstock Celica. I love those box flares in the back ( wouldn't be as extreme as the original ) and would put a front air dam like the old 935 Porsche. I wish I knew how to photoshop just to get an idea of what it might look like. I still like that one in the video. Here's the model of the Rodenstock Celica LB Group 5 http://home.online.no/~ellega/Slotcars/mrrc-mc006.htm http://wikicars.org/en/Image:935c_1.jpg

Close - except that's a Porsche 935.
Here's what a Gr.5 Celica looks like:
http://www.racing65.com/greatracingcars/celica1.html
Tamiya make some very nice models of it in 1/10, 1/20, 1/24.
Ebbro make a nice 1/43 model of it.
Even Tomy did one in 1/64.

Try this one for a Japanese racing Celica liftback from 1973...

Note the flares, the liftback body but the short, aero nose.
No V8 though, it had a turbo charged 4 cylinder (1600 cc 2T-G ?)
