exaust maifold gasket

I have an exaust leak and I'm wondering if maybe theres a chance that the exaust manifold gsaket is blown. The reason I'm sort of thinking of this is because I remember it did it all of a sudden when i took off and reved 1st gear to 6,000 RPM. If it is that i know its not too hard to change and the gasket is cheap but is there anything that can get wrecked if i don't change it soon if that is the problem?

u dont need a new exhaust, just a new down pipe. any muffler shop should be able to replace it for you for under 100 bucks

Its the piece of pipe that connects the cat to the muffler that has the leak. its most likely because the car was parked on grass before i got it. I talked to a muffler shop and they're gonna do new exhaust form the cat to muffler for $110. besides that the i think the whole thing is fine
