Canada 2ZZ-Ge VVTL-i

Hello everyone,
I had started a mistake of a project thanks to this jobber JDM mechanic: he suggested I swap my 98 corolla engine for an XRS 2ZZ vvtli engine to get more power (I was looking at the BT 4AGE). So anyways he abandoned my car and the dealer says it would take over 40 hours to complete the wiring.

I now am looking to buy a car, and found a 2000 GT-S Celica at a reasonable price. The car has 10 years of mileage on it. Would I be able to put my XRS engine out of a 04 Matrix XRS in the Celica GT-S once the engine gives it's last breath? Would I be able to bring the revs as high as the 2000 GTS can without damaging the engine?

I spoke to a Japanese sports car importer as well as JDM engine importer, he told me there would be no problem, last time I listened to one of those guys it cost me my car LOL!

Well thanks for looking and any information would be greatly appreciated!
Luc

you can have that harness made for you by a number of people, search around on newcelica...or you can just buy a 2zz harness and splice in whats needed and repin the pcm connector.

I already have the harness from the celica gts, the car is still in good working condition.
I also have the Matrix xrs engine as well as the harness and the ecu from that car.

I just want to know if I would be able to drop the newer 04 XRS engine into the celica gts without any major problems.
Thanks,
Luc

yes...minor issues could crop up with air injection if either has it.
