Hey guys, my front right speaker on my 91 GT celica started crackling so i took it out and replaced it with a 91 celica GTS front right speaker only to hear a different noise this time. It seems as though when i push the drum down (the part that vibrates) the noise stops. Any ideas on what i should do?

If the foam surround is still intact the coils toast...

Buy new ones... or... Start hitting some local bone-yards for equivalent Toyota models that have had their windows closed will be the best token vehicle for a replacement... Thats where I would start if I couldn't afford new anyway..
