2000 gt HELP

[SIZE="2"i just bought a celica literally yesterday. i love it. but when i lock the car, the security light doesnt blink. can anyone give me tips on that? and another thing, how do i test the alarm? on my old car i just press lock on the remote a bunch of times but on the celica it doesnt work.

and one moree thing lol sorry guys but theres a turn-able knob with the symbol of a light bulb to the left of the steering wheel, and above the security light. can anyone tell me what that is and how it works when i twist it? thanks alot![/SIZE]

The knob with the bulb is for your dash lights, it will turn them up or dim them down.

Does the remote work at all? if not, try changing the bulb. The security may be shut off or not activating.

oh alright thanks man. and yes the remote works. the red light on it blinks and the car locks but when i check the security light inside the car, thats what doesnt blink. do you know how to turn it on?

Does the alarm work, if it does, it just maybe that light is out. As far as that, no I don't. Sorry.

Alarm

Two ways I can test the alarm on my 2002 Celica GT.

1. Roll a window down and lock the car. Open the door from the inside and my alarm goes off.

2. Lock the car and then unlock the trunk with the key. On my car the alarm goes off even though I used the key. Have a friend unlock it just for a laugh. You put the key in and turn the car on to turn the alarm off.
