gen2 3SGTE - USDM ECU vs JDM ECU

Hello people Im new to the forums.
I have a JDM 3SGTE (no egr, no cat) running on a USDM AllTrac ECU 89661-2B290
Now i have always read that US Alltracs make 200HP
and GT-fours in Japan make 221-225HP
I know none of the internals of either engines are different. CT26 turbo slightly diff but i don't think it makes a huge difference

So my question is where does the 20+ horsepower come from on GT4s
Are the fuel maps and Ignition maps different???

i know someone with a jdm ecu so if its indeed worth it i might just get it.
25 more horses would be nice. Im broke right now so cant really afford a piggyback, standalone, or even dyno runs to test it.

The JDM 3sgte doesn't use TVIS, uses the CT20b turbo with a ceramic turbine , more aggressive cams(not sure of the lift and duration),540cc injectors compared to the USDM 440cc's, and more aggressive ECU fuel and ignition perimeters and a different oil cooler.

thanks for replying but everything you wrote is true about the 3RD gen 3SGTE (ST205 GT4 & Late MR2s 95+)

all 2nd gen 3sgte have TVIS, 440cc injectors, CT26, Air Flow Meter

searching on google i came across a forum that someone said the JDM ECU for the 2nd gen 3S was tuned to run on higher octane fuel than USDM.
I dont know if thats true or not but if it is i wonder what effect that would have on 93 octane. Alot of people swap in 3sgte's but then run an e-manage or standalone. I guess all i want to know is if one of these stock ECUs is better performance tuned, acceleration etc..
