When does it do this and approx what are some RPM values you are seeing?
when the engine was cold it was starting at 2000 then jumping to around 3000 then droping back once it was warm it was around 1000 to 1700 and it un the time i was driving last night it never idled lower than 1000

when you turn the key to ON, does the light come on? if so, and you dont have the light come on while driving then you dont have any codes. if the light doesn't come on at all when you turn the key to ON then you may have a code just the bulb is blown.
should be able to jump TE1 and E1 with a paperclip to make the engine light flash out any stored codes. May be nothing stored, these are pretty basic systems. is this a flap type mass airflow? sometimes those wear out and give bad readings where the flap moves the most.
yes it is a flapper type mass air flow sensor i just replacedd the air filter since i had one from my corolla that was identical to the one in there does anyone know where i can get the other type of sensor that is also capable of hooking a cone filter to? i would like to completely remove the factory air intake if posible i noticed the first half of it was already removed anyways

cchecked and made sure all conections were tight and it didnt change the idle any and there arent any of those clips on there right now the last owner rebuilt the engine and must have lost them
