1985 Celica GT Igniter...

The igniter or ICM on my '85 Celica is toast.. I need to know if the igniter from a Supra of the same year is compatible with my car. Does anyone know?

On those mid 80s igniters, you have to match up the numbers on them (top of the chrome tag on the igniter itself). If I remember correctly, the Celica and Pickup used a similar igniter... I am not sure the Supra would since it was a six instead of a four.

Te 85 celica takes an igniter intrinsicly unique all to its own. Only fits the 85 Celica.

Part# 89620-14390

Discontinued Part

I bought a used one from and 85 Toyota Truck, and cut and rewired the output, ( you need to consolidate) the plugs, The truck igniter has 3 plugs, and the celica igniter has only two. After doing that , it fired right up, and I saved a lot of money on a new one. I initially ordered a replacement through Autozone, 205.00, and they still hadn't shipped it 5 days later. bought this one on craigslist for 50.00. A good way to go , if you need one and time is important.
