Gen5 22re swap

Hey i currently have a 1992 toyota celica st i was looking at the 3s-gte swap but i kinda want to save some hastle and just go ahead and buy a built 22re engine from the 85 celica how hard is the swap? what fabrication has to be done?

A built 22re would have roughly the same peak hp as the 3s but would not be an easy swap in the least. To swap an R series engine would require much more than swapping to an S. The 3s swap is highly documented and aside from moving one mount is rather straight forward in terms of a swap.

UM... a 22RE is a RWD application engine. I don't see how you would ever make it work in your car.

theres the logistical problems of it being a longitudinal engine also, no R series engines came in FWD vehicles. Other transmission bolt patterns may line up but ultimately its really not worth it overall if one even did.
