4th Generation st162 what trans can fit to 3sge

Synchronizers are going bad. What other manual transmissions will bolt to the 3sge motor? not worried about swapping the flywheel or clutch as I need those anyway. Will I also need to swap the mounts and axles? Another thing what trans will be the best gears for highway use. I'm tired of screaming down the interstate at 70mph at 3500 rpms....lol. Will a 5sfe trans fit?

you do not have to replace the flywheel but i do believe the 5s one is lighter so it would allow the engine to rev up faster which i know isnt a problem for the 3sge but it doesnt hurt its up to you though it depends on how you want the car to drive

in australia our sv11 gen 1 camry had the exact same gearbox as the st162 just check where your starter motor is wether it is at the back of the engine or in front you may need the starter motor as well if you go for the 5sfe box im running an auto trans from a 1994 camry in my sv11 i had no problems fitting it at all and you should have to change fly wheel as if you go for the later box
