moonroof wear

I have had my celica GT-S now for about six months, long enough to start getting really annoyed by the little flaws in my car. The car is a 2001 and i bought it used from a true car fanatic but who could offer me no suggestions on the pealing moonroof. He agreed with me that nearly every celica he'd seen had the same problem, making my quest for a solution seem in vain. However, My question is what can i do to fix the dissolved and worn outward appearance of the Moonroof? I'm open to all approaches. Thanks
