92 Celica GT jerks and has rough idle

I recently bought a 92 Celica GT, 5spd, it worked great at first, now it has a rough idle and when you feather the gas while its in gear the whole car jerks, if you give it more gas the jerking stops. I replaced the plugs and wires and added Lucas fuel system cleaner, nothing changed. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

At what speeds does the jerking happen? does it happen at speed in a single gear or when coming away from a stop?

It happens in any gear but only when feathering the gas pedal trying to maintain speed, if you apply more pedal it stops.

If you have soft front shocks/struts that could also cause low speed jerking.

Ive got the same issue with my 94 GT. Is it like a clutch slip?

No it more like if you were running out of gas or had water in the gas tank.
