Lightbulb Celice 2001 gt burning oil

HI

i have 2001 Celica gt. 200k. changed clutch and transmission recently.

1. celice is burning engine oil (~2 litre in a month). back bumper of the car get black near muffler. oil burn happens mostly when driven on higway speed. when i check the oil gauge, the oil color is black. on street speed everything is perfect. even on highway there is no lack in power or speed. great pickup and can reach 190 km/h. can it be related to timing belt? becuase some mechanic had a look at engine and suggested to change timing belt.

2. other problem is that when on highway speeds. engine jerks sometimes. lets say 3 or 4 times in 200 kms. and sometimes no jerk at all for 120 kms. it seems like engine missed the blast and skips but then runs smoothly again. i have changed spark plugs, oil filter and tried flue injector cleaners.
can it a problem relted to oil/air mixture?

any help will be greatly appreciated

Thanks!

I love my Celica

Is there any discoloration to the exhaust gases? I would try to do a compression test on it, the first thing I thought of was piston rings.

I wouldn't suspect the timing belt, you may get those symptoms if the belt maybe skipped a tooth, but it would have a dramatic effect on the performance.

Also, are you getting any engine codes?

2001 GT's burn oil like crazy, it's a mechanical fault of the engine related to the piston rings, the only solution is to put an engine from 2003 onwards in it. There is not a timing belt on your engine, it is a timing chain and shouldn't need to be replaced. Can't say much about your other problem, but you might want to look into replacing your air filter and cleaning the mass air flow sensor.
