HELP! 90 celica no dash lights car wont start

I need some help. I got into my 90 celica st, turned the key and I had no dash lights, the car wont even turn over, like its completely dead but my headlights and inside light work. Im assuming its just a fuse but why is this causing my car to not even start. Can someone please help Im broke down almost a hour away from home and I cant afford to have it towed.

I would suspect the ignition starter switch if the dash lights are not coming on at all. Essentially if these go completely out, the car doesn't even recognize that you have the key turned.

Who said the main relay? Did they actually test any thing or is it just another hunch?

The only main relay that I know of on these would be for the EFI system. Its been some time since I've worked on the 4AFE engine but that shouldn't cause the issues you are having. I believe you would still ahve your dash lights if this were the case. There is also a circuit opening relay under the dash that can cause similar issues IIRC.
