need - 205/60/14 tires

Anyone one know places to get good used tires around the coquitlam / Vancouver B.C. area ? I want decent tires but cant afford new ones right now so i am looking for something with around 60 or 70 % tread. Anyone know of some shops? They're for a 87 Celica GT-S, stock wheels 205/60/14

ok...

all i can say is to try small/mom&pop tire stores and you can get nice used tires for cheap or brand new ones for a bit cheaper that most "Corporate" stores.

You could try the guys on the dorikaze board, since most of them are from the lower mainland. You'll have to sign up to post though.

Discount Tire is Bellingham, WA has the Falken ZE-512 (discontinued) in 205-60-14 for about USD$63 each. USD$345 total with taxes and install. It's an oddball size now and hard to find. Uniroyal Tiger Paw and Federal also makes it that size.

B.F. Goodrich still makes Traction T/A's in 205-60-R14. There are 3 Celica's in my family that all have these tires. They are very good. You can check TireRack.com for prices.

Les Schwab, Bellingham, WA, carries the Federal Formoza FD-1 in 205/60/14" for about $63 each.

I haven't bought new tires in about eight years, thanks to two sources for good used tires. Look on Kijiji (you're basically in Vancouver so it doesn't matter that there's no Kijiji for Coquitlam), and/or call around to wreckers in town. You can usually get decent used tires from salvage yards for a reasonable price. Just inspect them CAREFULLY before buying.

Too bad you're so far away. I have an almost brand new pair of Cooper Cobra Radials in that size.
I haven't been able to get rid of them as hardly any cars use 14" anymore.
