Could have been low on coolant with a large air pocket. Also are you sure the new thermostat isn't defective? Once the engine is brought up to temperature, do you get coolant flow?

no we thought it was an air pocket and when we drained it and try to do it over again it was filling up and when the mototr was heated up it started to shoot the fluid out like it didnt want it and when checked for the head gasget and its fine and idk the thermostat may be messed up but even so i ran it without the thermstat and it takes awhile to heat up but it still ends up over heating so idk...

How did you check for the headgasket?

Also does it only overheat when sitting still or does it overheat while driving down the road? Do your radiator fans come on?

Have you done a compression and leakdown test? You could have a blown headgasket.

Where does the coolant shoot out? Did you do a flush to remove rust? Does the system hold pressure when engine is hot?

From rad? From the cap? Aftermarket cap or from Toyota. Try another cap.
You need to tight the cap. After engine heat up, the rubber hose will become hard. If they don't, you have a leak somewhere.
