Ram air intake

Hi,

I've got a 90 celica gts.. 2.2L I noticed it's got a plastic tube from the front end of the car leading to the air filter housing.. If I were to replace my filter box with a k&n filter... I would obviously lose the attachment to this plastic piece..

Will this be a significant power loss? Is there somehow a way to attach this plastic piece onto the k&n (maybe with some stuff I can get from a hardware store?)

OH and also: Those 9.99 preformance filters they sell on Ebay: Whats the deal.. why are they so cheap? I know they dont come with the intake tube.. but are they made of cheap material? I wanna buy one.....

thanks!

there will be no power loss if you replace it with a filter cone...if you dont want to lose the box...replace it with a drop in K&N filter..
