Block/Head compatibility

Can I put a generation 5 (1991) 1.6 litre head on a generation 6 (1994 I think) block (with it's pistons and all)?
I know there was some Fuel Injection changes between the 2 and I beleive a slightly different valve indentation pattern on the tops of the pistons (I could be wrong there) My daughter threw a rod in the 1991 and I have a good later geneartion 2 engine and the generation 1 head had just been rebuilt. Any help would be appreciated.?

Well the 6th gen never came with the 1.6 4a, they have the 1.8 7a. So to answer your question no it will not fit, BUT if both block and head are 4a's then yes it will fit.
