2000 Celica GT Heating problem

Needing some help figuring out what wrong with my wife car. When you turn the heat on in the car and let it idle it will not get hot, but when driving and have the RPM around 3k or higher the heat work! but the when stoping at red light the heat will get cold again untill reving the engine to warm it back up. What going on? Heater core? TIA for your help.

If the engine doesn't stay at temperature, I would recommend replacing the thermostat and then working from there.

Temp is working it's about in the middle of the gauge. I get heat when I give it gas but as soon as I let go it's get cold again.

Don't spend your money just yet. Burp/bleed the cooling system for air pockets. That may solve your problem.

Well just got around to changing out the thermostat and still no heat. Burp/bleed the ac unit? Any other suggestion? Thanks for all the tips guys.

burp the coolant system. There are, I believe, a few good guides for this on newcelica.org
