Model year from vin#?

From my registration I copied the vin# JW5ST87KON0102150.
I am interested to find out the model year. I believe it is either '92 or'93. It seems that different tires are called for in each of these years and I have been given different advice from two different tire dealers.

Are you sure thats the right VIN? I tried running the inquiry for you but it comes back invalid. It is a Toyota right?

Thank you. I have just looked for tires for my 1992 and can't sem to fine any. The recomended tire is a 205 65 R14 and it seems that this tire is not available anymore. What do you think of using a 205 60 R14. These are available.

The 205/65R14 is a really weird size.

Your speedo will be off if you change to 215/60R14....When it says you're doing 60 you're actually doing 58 mph. (http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html)

The 215/60R14 size would be more accurate

And you're right, neither Tire Rack nor Discount Tire carry that size, but they both carry the other size you mentioned.
