Gen6 94 Celica wont throttle past 2500 rpms

I have a 94 Celica GT 5spd w 160k mi. The car idles and start fine but i cant throttle up past 2000-25000 rpms, the engine hesitates/sputters. When i drive it it does the same thing and feals like the engine stalls but it doesnt die and i can push the clutch in and the engine will pick up again. I replaced the distributor, spark plugs, and wires about 2 weeks ago cuz it wouldnt start so i wouldnt think that the problem was in there, its all brand new. #4 plug did have oil splashed on it when I changed them but I assumed it was because the plug wasnt firing properly, all were pretty worn and needed to be replaced. Car ran fine for two weeks after replacing the ignition components. Since the new problem of not being able to throttle past 2500 rpms I replaced the fuel filter but nothing changed. Seems electrical to me since it consistantly hestitates/sputters at 2000-2500 rpms every time but i am not really sure. Any1 have any ideas?...

I also have the intake modified. Removed the entire stock air intake system and have a custom fit K&N filter attached directly to manifold. The MAF is not connected and I have a resistor attached to clear the check engine light. I have had the intake like this for over 3 years and never had any problems related to it though. Great throttle response and sounds awesome.

Those celicas are MAP sensored cars. That little hose comes off that gives vacuum to the sensor the car is going nowhere. What your talking about is the IAT. that helps out as well.
