hiya,
I don't know much about toyota's so please don't flame me. =)

I've heard a few ppl speak of a gts with a turboed 3sgte, with an awd drivetrain. I think they said about a '91. I've seen one celica in my area with an ic, and baring an "all trac" badge. So I was wondering if this was really made and brought to the U.S.
Can anyone confirm or deny this for me?

Theres no such thing as a turbo GTS (unless its been swapped.) The only turbo awd Celicas were the Alltracs (Turbo4wd or GT4 are also acceptable but less accurate for our market.) They started in 88 (I'm not 100% on that) and ran up to '93 in North America. Europe and Japan continued to get the GT4 until 99 with updated engines making up to 260HP. There's a few stupid fast ones running around, but they're mostly unappricated because they never sold in huge volumes here, its a different story in Japan, Europe and Australia though.

btw, a factory turbo'd 3SGE is called a 3SGTE (note the T.)

That's what I thought, but someone posted 3sge a few posts down and no one said anything.

Was this drivetrain ever put on a mr2? (sinse the engine is the same)

None, GT4 was the name for the trim level world wide except the US where the name Alltrac was used but it's the very same car

A couple more useful facts.

4th gen alltrac/gt-4 (88-89) -- ST-165
Engine: 1st gen 3sgte

5th gen alltrac/gt-4 (90-93) -- ST-185
Engine: 2nd gen 3sgte

6th gen alltrac/gt-4 (94-?) -- ST-205
Engine: 3rd gen 3sgte

The 205s unfortunately never shipped to the us.

Thats a USDM Alltrac with a Carlos Sainz edition bumper witch you can buy from Toyota (outside the U.S. offcourse) for U.S.$ 400.oo

Yeah that gray all trac is my friend's 185 he ran a 13.9 @ fontana before FMIC and some other stuff.

I like the ST185 better anyways. Probably cause the front end mainly, the whole body just looks better to me, plus the I love the popup lights, just seam really jdmish to me haha.

I agree, but I really don't like liftback Celicas, I prefer the coupe. Too bad the All Trac only came in liftback
