1zz questions
car is a 2002 celica gt before i start....
Ok i just blew up my 1zz not to happy but what can ya do...
my question is i just called this guy and he says he has a brand new 1zz that will fit....
it is a Brand new short block that will fit 99-06 Corolla,Matrix, Celica,Vibe ect....
i do alot of air brushing for his shop and he said he would give it to me for a really good deal. he got it for a customer a while ago then customer backed out and doesnt really know much about it just that it is a 1zz and will fit those cars and has been sitting in his shop.
will that work with my car? i thought pre 2000 they were not vvti?
if it is a non vvti block can i just take the head off my 1zz which is vvti and put it on?
or how can i tell if the motor will work with my car? the casting on the block?
also i hear that they changed the pistons or rings in 2003 to stop the problem the 1zz's been having with burning oil and causing bearing damage.. is there any way i can tell if this block has those upgraded pistons or rings?
