1994 Celica Gt oil leak

Hello,

My Gt with 150,000 miles is leaking oil near the front main/timng cover. I suspect i am due for new water pump and timing components anyway. I have heard of leaks originating from the oil bump O ring on similar models, anybody have experience with this?
Not sure if I want to tackle the job myself, talked to a local shop about it and they seemed more in the dark the I am.

any help appreciated, Thanks

Yeah, you won't know for sure until you tear into it. Could be 1 , the other or both.
Either way, when you have it apart, it would be best to just change all the seals, including cam seals, while you've got it apart.

My Brother in law is a Honda Tech, he will be doing the work.

I'll be listening to his Honda BS!... actually he likes my Gt, hates my Pathfinder and loves to remind me.

I feel for ya! But I guess it'll be worth it for the free labor and experience.
Let us know what you find.

I've seen the cam seal leak on several of these engines

Good luck with tearing it apart.
