can i turn off airbags on 7th gen celicas

hi people, im about to buy a celica but i just need to know one thing before i do. can i turn airbags off as i will often have my newborn son in the car with me?

if i can how do i? is it easy enough? i live in england just incase there is differences in other countries models. Also ive been told that there
was a big recall on the celicas and there was a notorious engine problem with a certain year/model, which was this so i can avoid these one?

1ZZ-FE had oil consumption problems, no recall on them for that in the US.
unplug the seat sensor on his side, that should disable just that one air bag and still leave yours functional.
