Anyone ever had experience replacing a windshield mirror? The previous owner broke it off and now I got a replacement from a 04 GTS and theres a plastic black piece probably with the metal bracket underneath still attached to the windshield.

I heard about heating it up and trying to get it off but i'd ask first. The best type of "heat" I have is a lighter. Knowing that, would that work or should I take it to someone to get it off? What types of places do that kind of stuff?

Just found it's the old mirror button thats still attached to the windshield. Gotta get enough heat to help melt it off.
