ok, the sensor for the guage, not the computer.

anyone replaced it? the new guage i got wont connect to the harness, so i need to cut and put another connector on it.

does this seem right? 3sfe 88 celica gt. i hate cutting the harness... im not a big fan of splicing either....

tips? tricks? suggestions?

Well, for my 5th gen Celica ST (4AFE) it was pretty easy. There are two sensors. Visualize it from the drivers side, looking toward the passenger's side of the engine. To the right of the thermostat, there is a 2 wire sensor, that's the ECU sensor. To the left of the thermostat, there's a 1 wire sensor, that's the gauge sensor.

The one with the green plug is the temp sensor, 2 wires.
The one with the brown plug is Cold Start timer, don't touch it

Single wire ones are switches.

well, i replaced the one that went to the ecu by mistake...last night i replaced the one for the guage....still no dice. im going to check the fuse again today....and maybe try a few more things. im kinda at a loss as to whats going on here. its about to have a custom guage installation in there if this crap dont clear up soon
