No Bright lights

Okay guys, I have searched and searched and coming up empty handed.
i have a 00 celica that does not have any bright light. when you turn bright on i dont get anything no indicater in dash nothing.
I have changed the dimmer switch/ headlight switch on the coloum. also have checked all the fuses they appear fine.
At one point someone looked at it and told my girlfriend that it was a relay. there is a relay under the hood for the headlight. i replaced that. is there any other relays, Or does anyone have any ideals. She drives long distance at nigh back and forth to college and needs brights. And i am stumped on this. thanks in advance

there are several relays involved and a resistor pack for the daytime running lights. If I remember correctly the resistor is only for the running lights, but the daytime running light relay is involved with the high beams. so do the drl work?

it's supposed to, they were standard on all Celica of that generation unless disabled by the dealer at the owners request...or by a former owner hacking things up. Let me look at the wiring diagram and give you some ideas.

Ok....you need to check the DRL #2 relay, HEAD LEFT UPPER FUSE, HEAD RIGHT UPPER FUSE, DRL #4 relay also, there are two junctions (connectors/splices) behind the right kick panel as well as a ground that should be checked if the above are all fine. My advice would be to go to a junk yard and grab some relays with the same part numbers as yours off other Toyota cars. They all use the same relays (the DRL relay in a Sienna for example is the same as my Celica which is the same as a Corolla)

Okay, new problem. Still no brights after checking all fuses relays believe there good.
But now my dims come on but wont shut off. Have to pull battery cable to get them
to go off. That's with the switch in off position.

goto a junkyard and grab some toyota relays, I'll bet you have a bad relay and probably one of the DRL ones. Or the DRL module itself took a poop, but I think that would only affect the high beams.

Checked the HEAD relay? Want me to just scan the wiring diagram for you tomorrow?

That digram would be great. Where is the drl module at. I plan on going to junkyard
Wednesday or Thursday, to pick up some relays. Might go ahead and get the module
If I can find it.
what has me confused is dims worked fine untill I started pulling
relays to check if they was getting power. Then all of a sudden they are messed
Up.

If you'd like a second opinion, I could do some diagnosis where I work. Give us a call on Monday and setup an apointment, we're in Hazel Crest IL. Top Gun Auto, 708 335 2271. You'll probably speak to Cindy and she'll let me (Jordan) know. Worst case scenario is that Toyota is right, even if you just go with Toyota I'm still very curious to know the exact failure, which output or input is not responding. If its just one output not working, like to the head relay or one thing like that, it could be 'repaired' by using a relay in place of the body ecu control. Actually, check out newcelica.org and ask about how to wire the car for direct control of the headlights. You may find that someone there can make the relay harness to bypass the body ecu controls which you can install yourself and fix it for much much less.

I'm not here trying to make money off you, I'm here trying to help you fix your car.
