85 to 83 headlights mod.

hi everyone
i used to have a 1985 celica gt but it gave up on me after 25 years. i bought this 1983 celica as well i figure i can be able to swap some of the good parts. i took my hood and my front bumper icluding both of the head lights from 1985. the problem that i'm having now is that my head lights doesn't close down even when i turn off the headlight switch. i remember the 1983 head lights only goes up a quarter way and i beleive i had to modify some of the wiring as well. is there any way i can retract and un-retract thes head lights again the same way as the normal 85 celica. please help
