Celica GTS 3sge intake help

Ok, need some input here. My 1986 Celica GTS with 3sge engine has nice factory 3" air flow meter, but reduces to 2.5" throttle body opening. I am planning upgrades, but wondered about 3" AFM going down to 2.5" throttle body. Should I try for 2.5" AFM or upgrade throttle body? Current upgrades include nitrous, and that requires a hole in the air intake (zex). Tube is short rubber bellows in center (hard to attach nozzle securely). Any ideas? Anybody using zex nitrous on 3sge engine?

Thanks

So since no replies, how many people out there have Zev 82021 kit installed.

you could try boring out your throttle body a little bit as long as you are sure to get all the metal shaving out of it before you start it up again.

It seems like I would need a larger throttle plate after boring throttle body? If the AFM is 3", shouldnt the throttle body be the same? The hole in the plenum behind the throttle body is 2.5" also (same as throttle body). Should I just leave it alone? Seems like big deal, may not be causing any problem?

Thanks for any input................

It reduce from 3" to 2.5" for faster air velocity which helps air/fuel mixing and lowend torque. Open it up will give you more highend HP. Without any port and polish and valve job, a larger throttle may not help at all.

Ok so it seems throttle body is smaller for air velocity, wich is good. So I will leave throttle body alone (for now). The port and polish is still to come. The Zex nitrous kit should be here any day now. Need to think of a good way to attach Zex nozzle to air intake hose. Mine is rubber with center bellows section. Have cold air intake on other side of air flow meter.
Any ideas on how/where to hook up Zex nozzle?
