auto trans troubles

hey im workn on a 94 celica st with a 1.8 liter 4 cylinder and a a-240 e trans whenever it starts up the transmission shifts fine but after driving it a little it won't shift @ all ive flashed codes i got code 42 which is the vehicle speed sensor and it was bad so i repaced it now there is no codes but it does the same thing i want to do a manual shifting test but i have to disconnect the connectors from the trans soneloids and i can't find the connectors supposible there by the neutral start switch but im not having any luck finding them all i can see is the vehicle speed sensors and gear selector any help would be appreciated
