83 key door locks fell in

The keyed door lock on both doors now has fallen inside the door. You only see a hole now where the key should go. I have taken the inside panel off and can push the lock back up to the hole but what holds it in place? Is it glued? Help, I can't lock the doors now unless I want to crawl through the back hatch.

This is an old thread, but...

Those key cylinders fit into the handle and are screwed in. If it fell in the car door, one of three things happened:

-The screw just fell out (happens...)
-The screw is stripped
-The door handle is so brittle it broke and the cylinder has nothing to attach to.
