USA Putting in a newer Engine into my 1994 toyota Celica

Looking for any helpful ideas, i have aquired a 1994 toyota celica. It is by no means a GT the engine is a 1.8 Liter A series. Speficically I believe it is a 7afe. It has thrown a rod and am deciding to put in a JDM 7afe with only 50,000 miles on it. Looking for any suggestions of what else to change on such as water pump, cambelt, tensioners as well as any helpful tips on doing the change out. It is a FWD so i know i have to remove the axles and the transmission along with the motor. I have a teardown manual but wanted to see if there were any suggestions outside the book that would make the swap out the least painful it can be
thanks ahead of time

While still out, I'd change the cam and crank seals, rear main seal, and replace most (if not all) the gaskets as that engine has probably been sitting for quite some time and they've likely broken down some.

Thanks for the input, do you know any less of a pain way of getting the engine out with having to pull the transmission?

Not that I know of. Usually easiest to just pull them together

I have a 95 with the same problem---- heres what I did-- in the fuse box mine has a little toggle switch for a car alarm--- I through it the opposite way held the door open and it cranked--- try with the door closed or what ever---one time i had to unhook the positive cable from the batt and then throw the switch the other way with the door open good
