Gen6 94 celica 1.8 engine rebuild - help!

My piston bearing blew on my old 1.8, it had 202,000 so it was only a matter of days.. I invested into another 1.8 (5 speed manual) with 70,000, in beautiful condition. I swapped the engine, using the guidance of the chilton's manual and many veteran mechanics, and correctly assembled everything back together.

It looks fantastic. Problem is, there's no power what so ever. No headlights, no dome lights, no click when I turn the ignition, absolutely nothing. The battery is fairly new. Took it down to a nearby auto shop and had it tested, they said it was good. What I do find funny though, and I'm not sure if it matters, but usually when you put the terminal to the battery.. nipples, however you want to call them. There is usually a tick, or zap of the electric current. I am not hearing this.

We figured it was the grounds, so we ran along the wiring harness, for many hours. Every ground was fine, even still, we repositioned a few. People insist it's the grounds, and I'm not doubting it, but I haven't a clue where they all go. The wiring diagram is confusing, and I'm not sure if it even shows where the grounds ground.

The negative terminal contains two grounds, both which are on the chassis. There is a ground from the tranny to the shock tower hub, and two more I cannot recall their exact position, one is under the intake manifold and one is beside the power steering pump, they are both grounded though. I will edit this when I have a chance to take another look.

Is there anyone who has had an experience similar, or is a veteran and could give some advice? My cars been sitting for over a month, I would really love to get back on the road.

I appreciate it.
