Arrow it works again

well i got all the bugs worked out in my car and everything is running pretty strong...its still a little shaky at idle though... that was one of the reasons why we did the head rebuild...so i am still kinda confused on that one...and before everyone starts naming things i could do keep in mind that i replaced all hoses...got the head machined and new shims all to factory gaps..new valves.. a few new valve lifters...new alternator, battery, 5 exspensive sensors, new exhust pipe( not muffler our cat doing that this summer), plugs, wires, dist. cap, all new gaskets(including a metal head gasket), new metal radiator, new charcoal canister, checked all sensors with volt meter, new head bolts, new cap bearing bolts, ...and there maybe more...but yea i am stumped.. still get pretty much the same power as from before i did the whole thing...kinda dissapointed but it runs and i passed emissions beautifully...my car maybe one of the cleanest ones on the street..it just shakes like crazy at idle...

Even try ignition? Maybe coil is weak? Which sensors did you changed? Fuel pressure? You sure did clean throttle body and intake manifold. Check and clean the Idle Control Valve and set timing and idle again.

lets see if i can recall the sensors...idle control valve...something like that..map sensor i believe the one on the firewall...umm i will list them when i get home..but yea i cleaned the throttle body with carb cleaner and a tooth brush..all my parts that i took off were cleaned... my intake manifold...fuel rail, valve cover and things. the place that did my valve job and head stuff dipped them in there cleaner... it actualy looks really nice..i timed my car to 10 btd with the te1 and e1 terminals crossed and my idle was at 8 or 9 hundred...my distributor wire is new...is that different then my coil wire?

thats why. you need to get that idle on down. the actual timing of the engine is probably around 7-8 degrees if you were idling that high

the book said the idle could be at 800... so do you think i should time it back to like 12 or 13 degrees then?? that might make it a little closer right
