help

Hey i am new to working on cars. SO i think my water pump went out on my 1991 celica gts, there is a large water leak where the bottom hose from the radiator connects to the what i presume is the water pump or thermostat, can anyone tell me if i am on the right track

Few things, is it leaking from the hose? If so adjust it have came loose. Another I hope its coolant not water cars don't use water bro go buy some coolant for that car $12. Also if your thermostat did go bad they are made to stay broken open so your car doesn't over heat but they don't leak as far as I know. Hmm try adjusting the hose and re tighten it check for cracks and small holes, do this when the car has cooled down though. Good luck

thx rob, i was just confirming.

No pen its not the hose, the leak is coming out of one of the seams on the thermo.
I'm going to be getting into it this weekend, if you guys think of anything else i could use some more input.

if its coming from where that housing meets the block, I would just check to see if its cracked (unlikely), if not replace the seal and reevaluate.
