91 celica questions

I just bought a 90 celica gt. It's running the stock engine and pushing out 130hp. If I were to do an engine swap, what kind could get in there so it hits around 200hp?(I'm new to the tuning scene, so i'm still learning this stuff) also, would I be able to swap out the 5speed manual for a 6speed?

There is a lot of information out there. Look into other S series engine swaps (3SGTE, 3SGE) and what all is involved with the individual swaps. As far as I know no transmissions that can mate to an S series engine is a 6 speed, except possily one mated to a later generation 3SGE, but i am not sure.

I know parts you can but and add for a reason able price that can add to 200 hp or more pretty fast. =)

parts:
*headers($200) about 10hp+
*performance chip($69.99) 20-80hp so they say
*raisin battery management controller ($55.99) 15+ hp
*Pace setter cat back exhaust ($300) 14 hp
*cold air intake($80) 8-14 hp
*iridium spark plugs 5hp +
*tune up "oil, plug wires, vacuum lines, battery, coolant, things like that"
*stage 2-3 clutch kit (alot fast with torque)
*new fly wheel with the clutch kit preferably lighter faster rpm jump
*reduce weight in your car take some things that you wont need out "done strip the interior that's stupid and pointless.."

Ill think of some more but these alone arnt too much and will definitially pull every little bit of power outa that 5sfe engine or yours like it did mine. Those parts alont jump you over 200 hp for a great price, but its true the turbo version can possibly reach 500+ hp easily. It's just a thought

These estimates are grossly inflated. You can net a few small gains, but sadly nothing like what is quoted. beware of ebay scams such as chips, ground kits, and battery programmers.

^ PEN, please stop. Educate yourself and reassess these preposterous "easy 200hp" posts you keep making.

billzebub87 - Intake and exhaust are a good start but nothing other than major engine work on a naturally aspirated 5S-FE will get you from +/-130 to 200. Forced induction is easier and in most cases cheaper, but in a 20yr old 5S you'll still want to beef up the internals and redo the seals/gaskets/rings/etc.
