Gen5 For those that want 200+hp cheap 90's celicas

parts:
*headers($200) about 10hp+
*performance chip($69.99) 20-80hp so they say
*raisin battery management controller ($55.99) 15+ hp
*Pace setter cat back exhaust ($300) 14 hp
*cold air intake($80) 8-14 hp
*iridium spark plugs 5hp +
*tune up "oil, plug wires, vacuum lines, battery, coolant, things like that"
*stage 2-3 clutch kit (alot fast with torque)
*new fly wheel with the clutch kit preferably lighter faster rpm jump
*reduce weight in your car take some things that you wont need out "done strip the interior that's stupid and pointless.."
*fuel ionizer ($39.99) gas mileage boost i guess, skeptical on this one.

All this is going to put 200hp+ easily into that little 130hp 5sfe engine. These methods still work with the turbo version and other engine as well, done a lot of looking to find what can rip that horse power out.
If you add all of these like I have you WILL get a big boost in power and response and start taking car lengths with people and their sad turbo Honda's.

If you have and questions on how to install or which sites to get them off so they are legit and not fake post here. Also post if you have anything all that will boost power with little effort keep in mind this thread is to pull every bit of power out but with little work and a budget, so don't say cam shafts and engine swaps please =).

Well, honestly your hp gains are rather inflated.

A header may free up some hp up high or, likely, just flatten out the torue curve above peak rpm as the 5sfe tends to lose its breath above 5500 rpm

a chip has no effect. ebay BS.

A free flowing exhaust may free a few in the top end but unlikely any more than 5 hp or so in coordination with a header.

battery management controller? no. ebay BS.

iridium plugs will not make a difference without a change in the rest of the ignition system, and even then, its negligible.

a performance clutch only offers less of a chance of slipping under heavy loads with much higher torque than these engines stock or lightly modified will ever produce. More so, they are just a pain in traffic as they are very heavy and act like on-off switches.

reducing weight is always a good idea, that does have merit.

Even with cams, header and a free flowing exhaust the net gain really isn't very much, the torque curve is greatly improved but still far from 200hp+

Honestly, I'm not trying to sound like an ass but sadly these are a lot of myths circulating around the primarily younger tuning community that are simply not true. In my opinion, money is much better spent improving the suspension, brakes, getting good tires, and performing general maintenance on the car.

Actually your wrong there. 1st off none of these items are from ebay. Second they are not inflated all dyno tested. third the chip connects to the celica's IAT sensor and tweaks the signal sent to the ECU and safely advances the timing, and the battery regulator "used in polices car to boost torque from low rpms, make more current flow and reduce electrical interference, and have a bigger start with longer battery life" which obviously isn't "BS" as you say because clearly being the arm chair mech getting your thoughts from video games has your insight on cars and how everything works completely wrong. so before you flame my correct and dyno tested results from the companys and my car itself I suggest you do your homework buddy.

Well I have done my research and have yet to see any dyno results for any of the products you mentioned. Show me actual reliable data and I would be happy to reconsider. Also, disregard the fact that maybe yes I was blunt, I did not insult you as you did me. But, fine go ahead and believe in your placebos.

Agreed, 10-15hp with the CAI and exhaust

Those are a joke.

*raisin battery management controller ($55.99) 15+ hp
15+hp? no way

*Pace setter cat back exhaust ($300) 14 hp

*cold air intake($80) 8-14 hp
8-14hp by itself, no way.

*iridium spark plugs 5hp +
5+hp?-no way

*tune up "oil, plug wires, vacuum lines, battery, coolant, things like that"

*stage 2-3 clutch kit (alot fast with torque)

Does not add HP. Only frees up hp to the ground by reducing rotational mass crank has to turn and will rev up faster

*reduce weight in your car take some things that you wont need out "done strip the interior that's stupid and pointless.."
*fuel ionizer ($39.99) gas mileage boost i guess, skeptical on this one.
Weight reduction will increase acceleration, but not add HP.

All this is going to put 200hp+ easily into that little 130hp 5sfe engine. These methods still work with the turbo version and other engine as well, done a lot of looking to find what can rip that horse power out.

NO WAY you're gonna get 70+hp from those mods. No way.

Its a good start but yeah, wow, further research is needed. I'm closer to 200 stock than the 5sfe ever was and even my modified supercharger with full exhaust only got me +/-50hp which put me at around 230.
It takes a LOT of real engine work and bolt ons to make an NA 5sfe make 200.

[edit] also, weight reduction, clutch, flywheel ... those don't make power they help get it to the ground and improve acceleration.

I will gladly post dyno results within the next few day shake. and mr2jedi . also blue mean when you say "supercharger" is it that piece of junk thing that goes into the intake that force "1 psi " into the engine if so thats a waste of money and does nothing at all. if not I'd love to know how to do it myself. lastly Yes the fuel ionizer is a piece of junk that's why I said i was skeptical on it.

and it also takes alot of electrical modifications to take horse power out too. you can have all the bolt ons in the world and your car wont mean crap unless the ecu is being forced to read different or remapped. after you got your massive engine work done if I were you I'd find a local good tuning shop to have your ecu remapped and you'll gain alot of hp outa that.

Survey says he'll have about 110-130whp, up from the stock ~110whp the 5S puts down in real life. That or the dyno will have some funky weird corrections to inflate the engine hp number. You can make a dyno say anything you want, whp is whats what.
