Passenger window crank

My wife pulled the stunt of reaching over the passenger seat, and used the crank to shut the door. Pulled it right off, completely stripped it.

1984 Celica GT. Rare vehicle, hard to find some of the parts that are very common. Walk into a junkyard, would anyone know of another Toy I could get a crank from?

Or, without breaking the bank, (over 10 bucks is breaking it), does anyone know of some kind of a universal insert that is easy to find? Or maybe an epoxy that will mold to it like a JB Weld would?

TY in advance.

Usually they are just held on with a single metal clip. It may very well be the same as the ones on more common, slightly later toyotas (like 80s and early 90s corollas) and those are readily available at parts stores.

They're pretty standard as far as the splined shaft and retaining clip goes. You can easily find one at the salvage yard that fits, it just may not match the other original. Though you could always get 2 and change the other one so they'll match.

Is it the handle that has broken or the shaft?
Like they said above, the handles are pretty much interchangeable with any older Toyota.
The handle has a slot in it that holds a spring wire clip that takes many swear words to remove in normal circumstances.
That clip is what holds the handle onto the shaft.

If it is the shaft then you will have to replace the entire winder mechanism inside the door.
Luckily the mechanism is common to all 82-85 Celicas and Supras.

Yah, it's a splined shaft and a clip. I think I've still got two blue handles from my '84 parts car, although I have no idea where I put them. Probably on my parts shelf in my shed.

You might want to get a set of them from the same car in the salvage yard or they might not match.
