Question torque on the valve cover

what's a good torque to torque the big nuts that go around the spark plug tubes and hold the valve cover on? I went with 10 ft-lbs. that about right?

this thread says 17 ft-lbs, but i can't find and verify the source
Torque specs for 01 Camry 5S-FE

anyway, the silicone has been on there a few hours and is well on it's way to curing now, and if it's that much more, do i want to disturb the cure by squishing the gasket more?

haynes manual just says "snug"

update:

came across this somewhat official looking 5sfe guide and it said 17 ft-lbs, so i just said screw it and went out and torqued it to that hoping the cure hadn't completely set. it only ended up being about a quarter turn. feel free to say something to reassure me i did the right thing?

They only have to be torqued until snug. I honestly doubt that extra 7 ft-lbs will make a difference but nothing should be harmed. I've seen many figures for torquing down valve covers listed in in-lbs, so not a lot of force is really required.
