installing a premade one at home, if you can find one, yes you can.
Making a full exhaust, no. Just replacing the muffler, yes.
If you're just looking for a little more noise, you can just use an aftermarket muffler in place of your stock one. Just over the rear suspension is a flange, most parts stores should carry the pipe that goes between the flange and the muffler. Then just find a muffler that you like and clamp (or preferably weld) it to the end of the pipe. Instead of bothering with clamping and trying to find an exhaust hanger that'll work, I suggest bringing the pipe and muffler to an exhaust shop and getting them to weld it together and weld on an exhaust hanger onto the muffler. Its honestly worth the few extra dollars to have it done correctly, I've tried the clamp and universal hanger method and its not worth the time.
I would not recommend a straight through muffler (glasspack or magnaflow style), if you're just going for a bit more noise when you put your foot down, look at "turbo" mufflers. Thrush and cherry bomb have inexpensive turbo mufflers or the dynomax super turbo muffler. They open it up without being obnoxious.
