1990 ST bumper cover removal ?

I am replacing the front fender and under stand I have to remove the bumper cover, I am having problems with it though, there are 3 metal plates underneath where the radiator air intake is that are held on with plastic button screws (they are not screws though) and I cannot get them removed and I think that is all that is holding on the bumper cover. Then I think the last screw holding on the fender is behind the headlight assembly, do I have to remove the headlight assembly to get to that too? Anyone have any experience with this that you would share? THanks.

To remove the bumper cover, pull down on the center part of those plastic button screws, they dont thread out, just pull straight down. Then there are three bolts (or three pairs of bolts) along the top edge, two in the corners, and the sides are held to the fender with pressure clips, use can use a flat screw driver, cover the tips with a few layers of tape to protect the paint. It should then come off easily.

I dont remember having to remove the headlight assembly(but removing the capsule may be necessary), but you do have to remove the corner light assemblies to get to a bolt for the fender.

Also, be careful trying to remove the reinforcement metal straps going to the bottom edge of the fender, those like to break.
