Gen5 '93 All-Trac hood on a GT?

Is it possible to put the hood from an All-Trac on a GT? If so, where would I find one?

Yes, hoods from alltrac models fit the others as well.

I would browse around on alltrac.net, see if anyone happens to be selling one, maybe ebay. Some people have luck going through the dealer as well. Usually the RC front bumpers for 5th gens (if you can still get a hold of one) from toyota ran about $350 IIRC.

Sorry to be thread jacking here, but what is that small round hole on those hoods beside what seems to be the intercooler duct?

I believe on the GT4 CS hood (what I believe you are taking about as the alltrac hood only had a scoop) that the hole beside the vent was used for some kind of specific ducting when in WRC. But as far as I know wasn't actually connected to anything from the factory

I seem to remember reading that somewhere, so I definitely am not 100% on that

On the RC/CS GT4 it's connected to an alternator cooling duct. North America never got any of those models, but, interestingly enough, the special hood and bumper are available through a dealership.

And surprisingly at a fair price although the last time I heard, supplies are dwindling.

WTF?!!

Why do you post an answer when you obviously don't know it.
Have you ever even looked under an RC hood?
I know I'm not being nice, but throwing out blatantly wrong answers just propogates misinformation. It's stupid [stupid isn't neccessarily not knowing, stupid is not knowing and giving a {wrong} answer anyways].
If you don't know it, don't answer.
OR, take a lesson from Rob. He took a guess, but he was kind enough to SAY it was a guess, and that he wasn't sure.

ALL the ST185s had a alternator cooling ducts; they ran to the bottom of the engine bay, not to the hood.
There is no ducting for the IC in the hood, it's a water to air intercooler; the heat from the intake is transferred to a separate radiator in the front of the car.
The big vent in the front is to vent heat from the turbo.
The 2 vents in the rear are to vent heat from the engine bay.
The small round hole next to the bulge is to cool the timing belt cover. The homologation cars [RC/CS/Grp A] have complete functional ducting for it, not just the race cars.
FYI, the regular ST185s actually had a [different] cooling setup to cool the timing cover also, it directed air that flowed through the IC over to the cover.

Why? Because I was trying to be nice and answer a question, so I did some research online and came up with what I now know to be the wrong answer. Apparently, it's a common misconception, as I saw that information stated in a few places. While I haven't been under the hood of a ST185 in years, I am familiar with how an intercooler works, how the heat exchanger works on a water to air system, and which ST185 got a water to air or an air to air system. To be blunt about it, I was misinformed, but the response was out of proportion. I do, however, appreciate you correcting my mistake.

Since your car is not a ST185, you should look for the CS/RC hood. Even though your car is not a turbo, the vent will help cool down your engine bay as the heat from the exhaust manifold will exit through the center vent.

Thank you for the responses.

As much as I can't stand all those fake ducts and cladding people add to their cars, I find there is a practical beauty to the various ducts auto manufacturers add to the high performance model of certain cars.

For instance, the Subaru WRX or the Porsche 911 Turbo.

Basically, both these cars are just filled to the brim with holes in the body not originally intended by the designer of the sheet metal...

But the simple fact that the engineer added these holes and ducts for the sole purpose of creating a engineering/performance feat is F** sexy in my book.

Although I am not in the market right now for an alltrac, the fact that it applies to this rule will eventually make me buy one for sure.
