speedometer cable

I broke the end of my speedo cable after replacing a dash light as I was pushing the assembly back together. Is this cable a difficult item to replace? My car is a 1991 Celica GT-S with a 5-speed. Thanks.

my speed cable was whining like cat in heat having sex,
in the the winter time scared the hell out of me everytime it did that

I tried to shoot some grease down the tranny end of the cable
hoping it would work its way to the other end.
I dont think it worked but , as soon as the
weather warmed up it stopped.

If it starts up again when the weather gets cold Ill have to fix
it or run without it . to replace it i would have to take the steering wheel off to get to the gauges thats what it says in the book anyway.

you don't have to take the steering wheel off. I saw that in the book too. That's bs. Mine's done.
