fog lights on with high beams

I recently smoked my headlights on my 2000 celica gts and they look awesome. the downside to that is the lack of light that penetrates the darkened lenses. they are fine on clear nights but when raining, and or foggy it is dangerous to drive. it would help so much if the fog lights could be on when the high beams, but I don't know how to rewire them so they don't turn off with high beams...help!

It is highly illegal to do that. That is why they are set up that way.

Smoking headlights is honestly one of the worst things you can do to a vehicle. I highly recommend that you find a way to remove it. Not only is it a serious safety risk, but its likely that you'll have to remove it at some point anyway after getting a fix-it ticket.

I work with headlight restoration and a cutomer called us to order a Porsche Boxster headlight because he had nighted out his headlights. We asked for his and he agreed. When we tried to restore these things the night out had done at through the clearcoat and had even started to crack the lens itself. It is not easy to take that stuff off but I fully agree with robmilkshakes.

I've seen cases like that, and on the other end I've seen cases where a tiny bit of paint thinner on a rag practically wipes it right off. Depends on what was used and how well.
