92 ST Heat only WARM

Temp knob is turned full to hottest setting and heat only blows warm.
I checked the hose from the IACV and hose from just past the Thermostat housing and they are also hot. Where the hose enters the "Damper" just outside the firewall, it is hot but the small portion of hose after the damper into the firewall is only moderately warm. Is it possible that damper is clogged or is the heating coil iside the car clogged?
Any advise would be appreciated before I start taking parts off.
Thanks

Yes, thats possible.
Is the linkage at the core working properly and fully opening the valve to the core?
Maybe try a radiator flush and some new coolant?

I find it really difficult to tell the difference between 140 and 180 degree coolant by feeling the hoses. (Not implying it's a bad idea to check) But I can tell you if the T-stat is weak and opening too soon so the temp isn't up to what it should be, you will feel the difference in the air coming from your vents. Long ago at the first winter storm that season I found I had no noticeable heat. I pulled the T-stat and heated it in water with a candy thermometer. It was opening fully at 150 but was rated to fully open at 192. New T-stat and I was back to "Repent sinner!".

The linkage that controls the blend door can be found just under the passenger side dash, in plain sight.

Also, its possible that you may have some air in the system, I'm still fighting some myself. If the blend foor is operating properly, and it has been a long time since you replaced a thermostat then I, as well, would recommend a new thermostat, coolant, and a coolant flush.

I suspected a clogged core myself last year, but as soon as I connected a garden hose to the inlet, it came out just as strong out the otherside, so I was left with the possibility of air lock, as everything else was recently serviced.
