AE92 New to the Celica world, but in love.

Hi, my name is Joe and I have 1993 Celica ST coupe. This car is not fast at all, doesn't get the greatest gas mileage due to 220000 miles. She's not even manual but I LOVE this car....been looking for a car to stick on me for a long time I'm 22 and this is my 18th car.

Here is my questions.
I want to do a motor swap and of course change it to manual. I've been looking into it for a bit and the 3sgte seems to be the motor of choice. But suggestions are open. I've looked into the 5sfe also. For the life of me I can not decide what I want please make me some suggestions.

I do know I want a supercharged motor instead of turbo. And I want to stay FWD. I want 300hp at least and no I'm not expecting a stock motor to do so. I want forged internals and lots of money into it. Lots and lots.

I know my question isn't very direct, but I'm looking for advice on what I should do to my dear Lilly. She's the first car that's ever gotten me 10,000 miles....not because I treat cars like crap but because I never spent over a grand for a car. But she's done me good so I want to do the same to her, I'm sure you all know what I mean.

PLEASE just help me decide what motor to go with. What transmission, what supercharger, even the engine bay color for god sakes even though I think I'm stuck on HKS PURPLE for that one.

PS; I do not want a different Celica, I don't want a hatchback, I like my coupe.

Suggest away friends. I'll be in touch.

thx

Thanks for the info AZ I was wondering why the years were off In the generation. These smart phones are a pain. And to "speedy" you might want to change your forum name because your probably pretty slow. Douche bag, i can put as much money in it that's called for. Don't say shit to people you think you know. You wind up just being some fat fuck behind a keyboard posting in a forum about Toyotas when you probably drive a ford escort or something.

Merry Christmas to you too!

That crap talk will get you banned. It would probably be best for you. Maybe your attitude can get fixed.

ST to GT (3SGTE) swaps will not be economical and you'll get flamed from here to hell for 'wasting your money' instead of just getting a GT. I understand the love for the car means frequently spending a hell of a lot more than you 'need' to, but a lot of people won't understand the car-as-family-member school of thought so be prepared for people piling on on the Celica boards as well.

That said the 7AFE takes well to low-boost turbocharging, there are a ton of threads for projects over on www.6gc.net .

You could also swap a head from the 4AGE on, either 20V for NA screaming power, 16V smallport for reasonable upgrades, supercharged for the blower (although the SC14 blower might be an upgrade to consider right off the bat based on the increased displacement of the 7A over the 4A), or plain old bigport 16V for a cheap-gas-friendly power bump.

Hell, if you really want to go crazy, there's a few people out there that have built 5SGTEs, but that's a hybrid you can read up on on your own. Good luck with whatever you wind up doing.

celi

Thanks guys, I know I'm gonna get bashed for what I want to do but it's all good. Its gonna be a pain making it a 3sgte swap but it can be done . . . And when it's done she'll be a beauty.

To seabass... No I did not steal them I bought them all cheap. I'm sort of a small time car dealer I go through like 15 a year. Just buy and fix them and sell them or trade of course. but mainly i buy them running good now do a tune up and drive them to wyoming to sell them. Mainly cause poor to people there is 60k a year....bastards i hate that place so i rip them off. Trying to start a retro dealership but that's a ways away.
