Best 3sgte generation?

I've decided to make a fwd 3sgte Celica, with all intentions to build to its top street capabilities. But here is my question.....there are like 5 different body's that Cary the motor. The st165, 185, and 205. Then there are 2 different mr2s that have them. So how many generations are there actually forgive me if I sound kind of dumb asking as I know that the mr2s probably Carry the same engine equipped in the Celica.

But which one would be the best at the end of its building capabilities.

And are there any quirks with this motor I should expect. Like how much horsepower can I generate before I start blowing stock clutches, or tearing up transmissions.

There are 4 generations of 3sgte. If you are in the market to buy a 3s, get a gen 3.
