Muffler upgrade

I'm thinking of upgrading my muffler, but I was just wondering what everyone's opinions are about it and if it's worth it. I would like one that will improve my horsepower, but I don't want it too loud sounding. I like the noise, but something that's deep, not one that sounds like a loud fart.

i don't think that you'd gain much power by just replacing your muffler..if you want something good..then go for the whole exhaust system with a bigger diameter...and for the sound..i like magnaflow...nice deep tone..

Is a manza exhaust system any good? If not, what company produces a nice exhaust system with a bigger diameter?

buy an apexi or hks exhaust system because the muffler doesnt make a different in performance. if the sound that u you worry about all you got to do is add a silencer.

just the muffler alone won't do much except lower your backpressure. I had a Vibrant Performance Power1 muffler on my Celica, and it was very loud, and sounded really good imo. On my other Celica,I have a Cherry Bomb Turbo, which came on it when I bought it,and it's not loud, but it has a nice tone to it,especially at WOT in 3rd gear.

However, with me,the louder, the better. I used to run an axle back straight pipe that had dual chrome tips with glasspacks built into the tips. That was super loud.

DO NOT GET A MONZA EXHAUST!! they use crappy metal to fab the system out of. if you want a some gains from the exhaust, get a 3s-ge header but you'll have to have the ports matched up, get a high flow cat and get the HKS exhaust system. for more info/etc. check this thread out: http://turbotrdcelica.proboards29.co...num=1108404866
