Wheel upgrade - what's the best?

What's the best wheel upgrade for my car (an 89 celica gt)? I just want to know how big rims I can get on the car while still keeping the ride comfortable and smooth. Also, how much does it usually cost to do that?

i got an 88 gt, i plan on putting 16s on mine. still good and lightweight, but has plenty of tire for the road.

dont think about cost, think about how much you are willing to spend. i wanna spend no more than 1500 for mine. i think ill get out way lower, but there are about 3 or so rims that ill even consider.

just a tip, to keep from spending less, dont skimp on the tire. youll regret that shit later
